New Year! New Goals!
We are so excited to be starting 2021 with your child! We will be talking about some goals for this year. Chat with your child about some academic goals, and some at home goals that they may have for this year!
Pizza Multiplication
We have been working very hard at learning many different strategies for solving multiplication and division problems. We took our test before break, and students have been practicing these strategies. Now, we move to the next step at memorizing their multiplication 1-10 facts. They do not need to know 11’s and 12’s.
To help motivate students to learn their facts, we will be working hard on learning them, and then celebrating what facts they mastered with a pizza party at the end of January. We will be having the pizza party on Jan. 28th (half Day).
How this works: Students will be tested on each individual fact, 1’s, 2’s, ect. We have 30 questions that they have to answer in under 2 minutes. If they get them all right, then we try them with the next fact. Our goal is to have students memorize all their facts. All students will get at least 1 piece of pizza for their effort for working on their facts. However, students will earn more than one slice for the more facts they know. If they master them, then they get pizza and an ice cream sandwich! How fun!
