  3rd Grade News Week 16 January 4th - January 8th Monday, Jan. 4th - Music, Homework Sheet due today! Tuesday, Jan. 5th - Media Center Wednesday, Jan. 6th - Late Start, SEL Thursday, Jan. 7th - Gym Friday, Jan. 8th - Art New Year! New Goals! We are so excited to be starting 2021 with your child! We will be talking about some goals for this year. Chat with your child about some academic goals, and some at home goals that they may have for this year! Pizza Multiplication We have been working very hard at learning many different strategies for solving multiplication and division problems. We took our test before break, and students have been practicing these strategies. Now, we move to the next step at memorizing their multiplication 1-10 facts. They do not need to know 11’s and 12’s.  To help motivate students to learn their facts, we will be working hard on learning them, and then celebrating what facts they mastered with a pizza party at the end of January. Tuesday, Dec. 15th - Media Center Wednesday, Dec. 16th - Late Start, SEL Thursday, Dec. 17th - Gym, Science Test Friday, Dec. 18th - Nutcracker Reader’s Theater Performance, Art, Holiday Party Nutcracker There have been many changes to all of our normal traditions this year. The Nutcracker has always been one of the traditions that the 3rd graders perform. In a normal year, they would learn all the Nutcracker songs in music class, the dances would be taught during PE class, and the speaking parts were assigned by the music teacher and sent home to practice. Mrs. Peek and I would provide help with decorating the stage, and some practice times during class. With that being said, it was breaking our hearts that this class wouldn’t get to have a Nutcracker performance.  SO… we have put together an alternative “Readers Theater Nutcracker” where there will be more speaking, and less si

I will need help gathering treats and supplies.  If you are able to help, I have created a Sign-Up Genus to sign up for things that you could send in for the party.  Thank you SO much!    Holiday Party Sign-Up Chromebook Devices As of right now, it is expected that your student brings their laptop to and from school EVERY DAY so that we can use the laptops at school but also have them at home in case we need to go virtual.  Make sure that you charge your device at home every night.  Do not send chargers to school.   Please take the time to go over the digital handbook here with your c
