Thank you so much for all your support from home this first trimester.  Research has shown that kids do much better in school when their parents play an active role in their education.  A little of your time – every day – makes a big difference in your child’s education.  Parents who ask daily about school and check over schoolwork send a powerful message about the value of learning.  I appreciate all you do to support your children! 


Cold Weather

Now that we are getting into colder weather patterns, please check the weather so that your child has the necessary clothing--boots (when there is snow on the ground), hats, coats, and gloves/mittens--to be going out for recess.  We do go out most days unless it is raining or below zero wind chills!


Multiplication and Division

In math we have started working on learning strategies to solve multiplication and division problems.  Please watch this short video which helps explain the strategies we are using, as well as some games you can play at home:  3rd Grade Multiplication and Division.

Reading:  Finishing Biography Reports 

Writing:  Thanksgiving Projects

Math:  Multiplication/Division using drawings and models to solve
